Blog entry 40.
On the bank this week Jules managed three sessions and caught on all three trips, on that side of things no complaints, but he still feels like he's not really enjoying his bank time of present if that makes sense?. As ever he's been using minimal free offerings and mainly Nash Webcast PVA mesh bags of crumb.
His new water hasn't seen much Scopex Squid so instead he's been using the new Citruz crumbed, but as his other waters have seen plenty of squid, on those he's been using 50/50 Scopex Squid/Citruz crumb. What JC has noticed is that regular recasting bags every (45 - 75 minutes) and alternating hookbait colours brings quicker bites. Not much more to say in the fishing side of things other than thank goodness for a brolly.
Off the bank finally the twice delayed Peloton Briefs bike ride up to Easingwold took place, and as expected we had some rain, it was still cold but the company was great. Definitely finding that the scrambled egg cafe stop rather than cake is keeping Julian's energy levels up.
Met up with some retired Selby Magistrates (the Selby Wrinkles) in Wheldrake and had a lovely catchup and meal. Not just colleagues but friends going back in some cases 38 years. Managed two gym trips, another cold bike ride on Saturday and cleaned the Boardman after the wet Wednesday trip into the hills.
Popped to Independent Tackle and Bait in Doncaster to see the huge new Nashbait / Nash Tackle stand going up and caught up with the lovely staff, Matt and Freddie from Nash and Tommy Pickering too. Julian had his regular blood work done, ordered his Nashbait Monster Shrimp for May onwards (flake, 12mm and 15mm bottom baits) and started work on the next Total Carp column (Jules Monthly Musings ).
As always thanks for reading, keep an eye out for Blog entry 41, tight lines and happy angling Jules.
