Blog entry 39.
On the bank this week it's been a weird and frustrating week being honest, with very changeable conditions during all three trips. On the first trip Jules was greeted with bright sunshine on arrival, and had bagged a target fish early on.
The clouds came in, heavy rain followed and nothing else. The second trip was an afternoon till dark trip, which turned out to be a grueller, the wind was all over the place and probably for the first time for a long time JC felt like he wasn't enjoying the session.
He did manage to pinch one at the death, but it truly felt like pushing water uphill. The final trip of the week Jules arrived in heavy rain and then the sun came out. Spent hours watching carp and they looked very non plussed, just occasionally dipping down but ignoring the feed.
He really should have moved when it was clear that they were backing off the cold wind. Jules finally moved and managed to stalk one out close in. Overall a frustrating 30 odd hours of carp fishing
Off the bank Jules enjoyed a trip to Meadowhall to celebrate Roz's birthday, yes Meadowhall on the last Sunday of the school holidays, that's dedication! thank goodness for cafes, coffee and WiFi, sadly the Peloton Briefs bike ride was postponed due to the crappy weather, but he did get to catch up with the old Selby Magistrates Court admin girls for lunch.
Enjoyed a morning at one of the syndicates doing a work party, and as ever coffee and cornish pasties as a reward. As ever two gym trips, a visit to Independent Tackle and Bait fishing shop in Doncaster to see the amazing work they are doing with the property next door. It's going to have one huge shop hall totally dedicated to carp fishing. No doubt they'll be a big Nash Tackle and Nashbait Open Day there to celebrate it.
As always thanks for reading, keep an eye out for Blog entry 40, tight lines and happy angling Jules.
